Newstead House is proud to deliver in partnership with Moreton Bay Environment Education Centre, THE WAR YEARS education program between Monday 11 March – Wednesday 20 March 2019. We welcome year ten students of South East Queensland to our precinct to learn about this very important part of Brisbane and Newstead House’s history. During this period Newstead House will be CLOSED to the public Friday 15 March 2019. This wonderful education program is delivered as a theatre experience, and as such Newstead House is the stage. We will be open to the public Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March, however entry will be by donation, as a number of rooms are reinterpreted for the education program. We thank you for your patience and look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you to Newstead House.
Newstead House is open to the general public on the following days:
Friday – 10am – 2pm
Saturday – 10am – 2pm
Sunday – 10am – 4pm
On opening days we offer a daily tour at 11.30am which is included in your entry price. Our passionate guides will take you on an hour long exploration of Newstead House looking at our history, the collection and the people who have lived in our beautiful home.
Monday – Thursday by prior arrangement

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Brisbane City Council buses stop at Bus Stop 12 inbound and outbound. For information about catching public transport in Brisbane contact Trans Link on 13 20 30 or www.translink.com.au.
Bowen Hills train station is the closest to Newstead House with a 30 minute walk required to Newstead Park.
River City Cruises depart from the River Lookout Cruise Terminal (Jetty A), Southbank Parklands at 10.30am arriving at the John Oxley Landing, Newstead Park at 11.15am. On its second cruise, The Neptune then departs at 1.15pm returning to Southbank at 2.00pm.
Cycling through Newstead Park either to or from Teneriffe & Newfarm is one of the most picturesque rides available in Australia, with bike ways running along the side of the Brisbane River for most of the journey. Newstead House is the perfect rest spot to take in the breezes!
