Why not make Newstead House the location for your next group outing?
Groups can undertake a self guided tour of our magnificent home, and enjoy the experience at their leisure, or alternatively groups are welcome to book a guided tour. Our guided tours are conducted by our wonderful group of volunteer tour guides who each possess a wealth of knowledge about the history and collections of Newstead House. Guided tours usually take approximately 60 minutes.
To ensure we have appropriate staffing and tour guides available at the house we request that all tours book prior to arrival. To book a group visit please contact us on 07 3216 1846 or events (at) newsteadhouse.com.au.
Make a day of it!
Make a day of it, with morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea available to be served on our veranda as you relax and take in the magnificent views of Brisbane River.
We do not have an onsite cafe, so all catering must be arranged prior to arrival. Prices are available on request and minimum numbers do apply.
We welcome you home!
Newstead Park is an ideal picnic spot with some scattered tables and bench seating. Observe the activities on the Brisbane River and in Breakfast Creek; converse with Ficus, the ‘talking’ fig tree; seek out the ‘Brisbane Blooms’ storyboards; solve the puzzles in the Alice through the Looking-Glass play space and stand and reflect before the many Memorials scattered throughout Newstead Park.
The Breakfast Creek Heritage Precinct includes the historic villa Miegunyah at Bowen Hills, the Perry Park photographic Vista, the Cloudland memorial, the unique Temple of the Holy Triad and the home of ‘barefoot bowls’ – the Booroodabin Bowls Club.
