2020 has been a challening year for all of us, and as a result Newstead House is temporarily CLOSED as a House Museum.
However we are now accepting bookings for pre arranged tours, events, weddings and education programs.
Although Newstead House is closed you can still visit our Heritage Precinct and enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Newstead Park.
We will review our public opening hours in early 2021.
Newstead House was fortunate to receive State Government funding in 2019 for a major restoration and refurbishment project to ensure the future of this beautiful and iconic landmark.
This work has been unavoidably delayed due to the COVID-19 event.
The good news is that with the delay we will be endeavouring to temporarily re-open Newstead House, as much as possible, to the public, including for events.
Keep up to date on our plans for re-opening dates, events, and any COVID-19 restrictions, by visiting this website.
Newstead House is approximately 15 minutes drive from Brisbane’s CBD.
Brisbane City Council buses pass the entrance to Newstead Park. Alight at Stop 12 inbound and outbound. Bus timetable information available from Translink 13 12 30.
River City Cruises also cruise to Newstead House twice daily.
Limited parking is available in Newstead Park.
